Cabinetry Guide

Cabinetry sets the tone for your entire kitchen.

It’s often the first thing your eye is drawn to, shaping the overall feeling of warmth, light, and cohesion within the space.

Discover the key features behind the Light & Airy cabinetry palette and the calm, inviting atmosphere it creates.

Fluted, ribbed, batton feature panels

Add a little character without the extra visual weight. A fluted island base, ribbed wall panels or ribbed doors keep things interesting and light.

Upper cabinetry

This is the top zone where the “airy” lives and its design can make your kitchen feel open or heavy.

Offset heavy overhead cabinets with a lighter colour or break them up.

We love floating open shelves to give your kitchen a spacious feel.

Curved & soft forms

Rounded and open island bench ends reduce the visual weight of the space and keep things light.

Shadowlines

A small gap between the cabinetry, walls and ceilings. Shadowlines define edges and create a crisp, clean look.

Layout tips

Common mistakes

Too much white

White on white can work, but only if there is texture, warmth and tonal variation.

Fix: Add pale timber, soft stone, warm lighting or fluted detail.

Using cool whites

A cool white can make your kitchen feel cold, especially with pale grey flooring or cool stone. Fix: Test paint, cabinetry and benchtop samples together in your actual light.

Too many feature moments

Fix: Pick one hero and let everything else support it.

Forgetting warmth

Fix: Use timber, soft fabric stools, ceramic lighting, greenery or warmer metal finishes.

Choosing finishes separately

This is where most kitchen selections go wrong. Each material might be beautiful on its own, but not together. Fix: Build the palette as a full set before ordering (our Kitchen Style Kits can help with that).
